Amazon for moms

I recently found out about a new program that Amazon is offering called Amazon Mom. It’s an amazing program that will save moms money AND time when purchasing items like diapers, wipes and more. I absolutely love this program and think every mom or mom-to-be should join. Many people find details about signing up and what benefits you’ll receive are a bit confusing. To help you out, I’ve created a FAQ about the Amazon Mom program that should help you.

Q: Who is the Amazon Mom program for?

Obviously, by the name, this program is geared toward moms – whether you’re in the pre-natal expecting stage or you’re currently the mom of a baby or toddler. The program isn’t restricted to moms though. Dads, grandparents, and other caregivers can also sign up.

 Q: Am I eligible for a free 3-month trial?

The Amazon website says that if you have tried Amazon Prime in the past you may not be eligible for a free trial of Amazon Mom. Specifically, they say you cannot get a free trial if you received free Prime shipping benefits from the Amazon Mom or Amazon Student programs in the past. They also say that they will consider your past free or paid Amazon Prime status in determining if you are eligible.

Q: How do I sign up for my free 3-month trial?

You can sign up via the Amazon Prime website here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup. A credit card will be required when you sign up. However you can cancel ANY time during your three month free period to avoid future charges to your card.

Q: What are the benefits of my free 3-month trial?

The major benefit of the trial is that when you purchase diapers and wipes via Subscribe & Save, you’ll automatically get 20% off. With Subscribe & Save, you put in an order that will be delivered to your home on a specific day each month. So add those diapers and wipes to your Amazon cart, and then sit back as they come automatically to you every month.

Another benefit of the trial is that you can save 20% on other items as well. Just choose 5 or more Subscribe & Save items (consumables like laundry detergent, shampoo, bathroom cleaner, etc) and all of these Subscribe & Save items will receive the 20% discount. The good thing is that the diapers and wipes you purchase count toward the 5 items needed for this discount – so throw in a few other things you use each month, and receive a huge 20% discount on it all.

There are other benefits to your trial too. This includes: (1) free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping on other purchases made at Amazon.com and (2) a 15% baby registry completion discount if you want to purchase some of those items on your baby registry yourself.

Q: What happens after my 3-month trial?

After your 3-month trial you will be billed $79 for a year-long membership. With all the 20% off savings and free shipping, your membership should pay for itself in just a couple months. Once again, if you cancel before your trial ends, you will not be billed.

Q: What are the benefits of full membership?

In addition to the benefits listed above, when you pay for a year membership you will get additional Amazon Prime benefits. This includes being able to borrow one free Kindle book each month, and being able to stream thousands of movies and TV shows instantly, for free. You will also be able to add other household members to the Amazon Prime shipping benefits.

All in all, Amazon Mom is a great program for moms who want to save money and time when purchasing baby and household items. Check it out today at http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup.

NOTE: All of the details above were taken from the official Amazon Mom sign up page (http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup). Specific rules and regulations regarding the program could change at any time, so make sure your review the information on Amazon before you sign up.
